Ishita Gupta’s story is proof that where you start doesn’t define where you’ll go — it’s how you show up every day that matters! 💪



Born in Kanpur and raised in Gurgaon, Ishita was a serious student in school, but college changed everything. She stepped out of her comfort zone — trying sports, leading societies, and even becoming a magazine editor, despite not being a writer by nature! 🏀📚



Her message is clear:


 “It doesn’t matter if you come from a tier 1, 2, or 3 college. Hard work, daily skill-building, and networking open doors.”



Though she started as an engineer with double gold medals, her heart was in people and psychology. She jumped into recruitment as an intern in a fast-growing startup and quickly moved to global hiring — interviewing leaders twice her age with zero prior experience! Talk about pressure and imposter syndrome! 😰 But Ishita prepared hard, asked sharp questions, and built her human-first hiring style based on respect and empathy.



She also faced setbacks — like not cracking IIT despite a 96% score — but says: “That failure became one of my greatest motivators.”



Her parents, especially her mom, were her biggest supporters during tough times, and she learned to silence negative voices around her.



Her advice for students, especially from smaller towns:


 “Don’t just rely on job boards or LinkedIn applications — cold DM, do your research, and build real connections early!” 🤝



Mental health is a priority for Ishita. She urges everyone to break the stigma:


 “Mental health isn’t a side note.” 🧠💚



On AI in recruitment, she believes:


 “AI helps with busy work but can’t replace human connection or empathy.”



Her philosophy on hiring:


 “It’s a two-way street. Candidates bring potential; companies must bring purpose. Both sides must bring their A-game.”



To recruiters struggling with communication:


 “Be human. Follow up. Be transparent. Silence hurts more than honesty.”



Today, Ishita is proud of her journey, working in healthcare recruitment and dreaming of starting her own company — inspired by parents who took the bold step of starting their own businesses. 💡



Her powerful advice:
